Beauty- March Glossybox Review!

Hi guys,
As many of you know I subscribe to Glossybox & have done for about a year now but I rarely review them. This month I felt like sharing as I was disappointed with the box and wanted to know what everyone else thought.
As the end of February was LFW the box was based around 'city chic' and was very glamorous/girly (like usual but even more so) and all about getting that 'glossy, groomed look city girls miraculously manage to maintain' (from the leaflet).

When I first looked inside I was impressed as it all looked so colour co-ordinated and chic but as I looked at the products in depth I was rather disappointed. The products are as follows:

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant
'A tried and tested classic, this is every girl on the go's must-have staple. Created in 1930 by Elizabeth Arden to soothe and protect your skin, Eight Hour Cream was an instant success and has been one of the UK beauty editor's favourite product for the past 7 years! A little goes a long way with this intensive moisturiser, so use it sparingly'.
Full size: £25 for 50ml

I'm not one for heavy moisturisers and this is so so thick and gloopy, and realy weighs down on the skin. It also smells really weird (don't quite know how to describe it haha- it's not nice at all!). It did make my skin feel ulta-soft after using it but I can find the same feeling from a cream half the price and that I would prefer.
Rating- 2/5

Juicy Couture- 'Couture La La'
'Couture La La is a clear tribute to the Juicy Couture woman's layered personality; confident and fearless and at the same time flirty and feminine! Capturing the three main aspects of her personality. Couture La La is feminine with bright florals, daring with bold florals and deminine with sensual woods and musk. Without even trying, the Couture La La girl is always centre of attention- whether its with her innovative viewpoint at a business meeting or her carefree dancing at an impromptu party!'
Full size: £63 for 100ml

I swear you're going to think all I do is moan on my blog but I don't like this product either haha. It's way too overpowering and musky for a women's scent in my opinion but I have always had a strong disliking to any perfume that isn't floral/delicate (even though in the description is says 'floral' it definitely is not! and you'd certainly have to be 'fearless' to wear this perfume!).

Nails INC St. James
'St. James- the original aristocratic residential area of London is still home to most of London's best known gentlemen's clubs and a variety of private banks, trusts and upmarket restaurants. Well-dressed brokers, bankers and gallerists populate the streets and ladies who lunch abound. Be like the locals with nails inc's show stopping red named after this upmarket area. A classic, pillar box red, this will add instant glamour to any outfit!'
Full size: £11 for 10ml

Normally, I HATE nails inc due to constant peeling/chipping but since trying this nail varnish my perception of the brand has completely changed! St. James is fast drying, is hard to chip and the colour is beautiful. I've been looking for a good quality pillar box red for a long time and even Barry M (my favourite nail brand) can't top this! I would recommend this to anyone.

TRESemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray
'Tired of creating salon-worthy hair that doesn't last throughout your busy day? So were we, until we discovered TRESemme Salon Finish Hold Hairspray. With a fast drying professional performance formula, this hero hairspray provides all day flexible control with long lasting extra firm hold that is humidity resistant and brushes out with ease. What's not to love?!'
Full size: £4.69 for 500ml

As a fan of hairdressing brands such as Bed Head and Wella, I would not rate TRESemme as 'salon-worthy' however this spray does do the job. My hair is very thick and drops as soon as I step outside so I have to apply a lot of hairspray. TRESemme does work but not as well as my Bed Head hairspray (as you'd expect from a price 3x as much). Therefore TRESemme won't be replacing my usual brand but I would recommend it to someone looking for a new product to try out.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Blush
'Want to make a bold statement? A juicy lip stain and moisturiser in one, Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetic's Lip Blush is an effective multi-tasker, and a must-have for any girl on the go. Beeswax and ceresin wax create a sheer, smooth application'
Full size: £12for 2.5g

When I first opened the box, I was disappointed to see a lip pencil in there as I never use them however my opinion has changed as this is the equivalent of a light-weight lipstick. I adore this product and will be using it a lot as it's a perfect day-time alternative to a lipstick. It also stays on longer than any lipstick I've ever had and does not come off on glasses/cutlery as easy. I've also found it doesn't drag like a lipstick because it soaks into the lips like a lipstain rather than sit on top of them. I love love love this product and will be buying again!

FAQ:
Is your hair real?- Yes! It is all real, I've never had extensions and never will
Have you ever dyed your hair?- Yes, I dyed my hair red when I was 11, dark brown when I was 13, black then purple when I was 14, brown when 15 and now I'm 16 and going blonde
How do you grow your hair so long?- It naturally grows fast, but to aid it I use a hair masque once a week and leave it on for 20 minutes - an hour, it REALLY helps and I recommend it to anyone
What products would you recommend to get clear skin?- I've recently started using it on a regular basis as I got it in the January Glossybox but the Monu Aromatic Mask is great! It's a gel mask that has an amazing texture and doesn't set, burn or feel uncomfortable and my skin has never been better. I also take my make up off with the Clean & Clear Daily Cleanser and it doesn't leave a trace of make up left on the skin :-)
How would you describe your style?- I do not have a set 'style'. I wear what I want whether it's in fashion or not, regardless of the stereotype it fits into. Some days I look more 'emo' or 'scene' and others I look like a typical beauty blogger. It all depends on my mood
If you could change one thing about you, what would you change?- This is a really hard question for me to answer because I dislike both my nose and my chest, I'd change either of those without hesitating
Do you have any piercings/tattoos?- I have 9 piercings (7 lobe piercings- 4 left, 2 right (I did have 3 in the right but one ripped out), 1 cartilage piercing on my right ear and a nipple piercing on the right side). I don't have any tattoos but I plan to get some as soon as I go off to uni as my parents don't agree with them
What do you do to get your messy bun so big?- I'll be doing a tutorial of this when I can be bothered but basically I put my hair in a tight pony tail, put on a hair donut then back-comb all my hair and loosly place it around the donut and pin it down tightly then pull it out slightly with my fingers
Favourite clothes shop?- Missguided, but I often shop at Primark
Do you have a job?- Yes, I work in Sainsburys on tills
What subjects do you do at school?- Photography A2 (did the AS in year 11 as well as ICT, will be carrying on in year 13), Business AS, Economics AS and Media AS
What do you want to do as a career?- I'd love to be a professional blogger/vlogger one day but it's just a hobby now, maybe one day it'll be full-time but who knows. I'm aiming to take a Business degree in September 2014 but I don't know what to do after that

Joggers- Topshop T-Shirt- New Look Earrings- River Island Necklace- New Look Backpack- Topshop Shoes- Missguided Jacket- New Look
So it's January and just past exam season so I realise we're all tired, worn out and don't feel like dressing up for 6th form! Recently I've been wearing joggers with a baggy tee and some converse, but here's an outfit with a bit more glam with the chunky jewellery. Personally, I love the Egyptian touch from the earrings which is on-trend for S/S13.

Beauty- Stilleto Tip Nails

Hello again everyone,
So I thought I'd do a bit of a personal post today which I haven't done in MONTHS! But here we go- my nails. They're acrylic & I did them myself. I was thinking about making a tutorial but I since I'm still learning how to do acrylics they're pretty shocking & I have a different method to most, so I wouldn't want anyone learning from the video! If you're interested in learning how to do acrylics I could a super cheap kit from EBay and it's fantastic for the money and from England so you won't have to wait a long time for delivery or pay import tax :-) If you want a review of it please comment below!
